Shore, boat and spearfishing

Shore fishing: the service shown on this page.

Boat fishing: requires the corresponding boat or individual method, depending on the authority and waters concerned.

Spearfishing: requires a separate licence and may involve age, medical and safety requirements.

Is the licence valid everywhere in Spain?

This must be checked rather than assumed. Coastal fishing licences are issued by Spain's coastal autonomous communities or cities, and anglers must comply with the rules applicable at the place where they fish.

Andalusia

Andalusia recognises equivalent shore and individual boat licences issued by other autonomous communities, subject to Andalusian fishing rules. Collective boat fishing and spearfishing require the corresponding Andalusian licence.

Canary Islands

The Canary Islands recognise licences issued by the State or other autonomous communities for the authorised method, but their own recreational fishing rules still apply.

Other coastal regions

Recognition, protected areas and local limitations must be checked for the intended destination. A licence is not a universal exemption from local fishing rules.

Fishing in Spain as a visitor

Can a tourist obtain a Spanish sea fishing licence?

Yes, subject to the identification and administrative requirements of the issuing authority. A passport or EU identity document may be accepted depending on the procedure. We check your case first.

Do I need a licence to fish from a beach or pier?

A recreational shore fishing licence is generally required. The specific location must also permit fishing: bathing areas, ports, protected areas and marine reserves may have restrictions or require additional permission.

Does the price include the public fee?

Our published price includes the private assistance, the applicable official fee and digital delivery for the service described. We confirm the exact case before requesting payment.

How will I receive the licence?

We deliver it digitally by email or WhatsApp after the issuing procedure has been completed.

Does the licence allow me to keep any fish I catch?

No. Catch limits, minimum sizes, closed seasons, protected species, reporting duties and local restrictions still apply.
